My prior experiences with technology include creating
power points for a variety of classes from 6th grade through
high school. I became certified in Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook. Last year
in my English class I created a website using Wix. Also, I use my iPhone and
Laptop daily for leisure, social media, and researching the web.
In this class I hope to become more familiar with
technology that would be helpful for elementary aged students to use for
learning in an entertaining way. Kids have a very short attention span and I
want to learn how to keep them engaged in class activities with different technological
tools. In this generation kids are using technology at a very young age. So I
believe the most modern technology will be the best tool for improving the
minds of kids. I hope this class will give me the tools to keep a child’s
attention.
From my questionnaire results, I learned that I am an extremely visual and intuitive learner. I prefer discovering new ways of thinking and looking at the whole picture rather than specific facts and details. I love abstract ideas. I would rather see pictures, graphs and diagrams rather than learning from words or verbally.
